Ice Tech UK is a unique company offering worldwide turn-key packages for the design, construction, refurbishment and maintenance of Ice Rinks and Ice systems.
Our range of Ice Systems are specifically selected to suit different applications, from Olympic size permanent indoor rinks to outdoor temporary winter rinks and leisure rinks to specialist film sets – we cater for all types of applications.
World Championship sport Management
A senior partner at Ice Tech UK managed the World Indoor Archery Championships at the Birmingham National Indoor Arena. This significant event set a new tournament record, with nine world records being broken in just four days of competition.
Film Industry Contribution
Ice Tech UK's expertise in ice construction was utilised for the James Bond film Die Another Day, showcasing the company's ability to handle complex and unique projects.
XVII Commonwealth games
A Senior Partner at Ice Tech UK was involved in the design and supply of air conditioning and power across the entire commonwealth games event.
SPECIALISED ICE STRUCTURES
The company expanded its unique offerings by designing and building specialized ice structures for film sets and events, including ice bars, ice caves, and ice climbing walls.
t-mobile street ice launched in birmingham
Ice Tech UK sealed a three year sponsorship agreement with T-Mobile to deliver the Street Ice event in Birmingham's Centenary Square. "The pink rink" also included a 7.5 meter ice climbing wall.
Global Rink Construction
The company's global reach expanded significantly with major projects in Beijing and Russia. Ice Tech UK built an outdoor temporary ice rink in Beijing to celebrate the launch of Apple's first Asian store. In the same year, they also co-designed a 2,800 square-meter rink in Moscow's Red Square.
Major UK Refurbishment Projects
The company undertook its biggest challenge in the summer of 2010, refurbishing 5 UK ice rinks in 5 months. These included Alexander Palace, Chelmsford Riverside and Dumfries Ice Bowl.
Ice Arena Wales Project
Working with Kier Group, Ice Tech UK was the nominated specialist subcontractor on the new twin-pad ice rink in Cardiff, the Welsh capital city. The Cardiff Devils new home venue, featured a 60 x 30 main rink with 3,000 seats and was later renamed the Vindico Arena Cardiff.
Winter Olympics Advisory Role
A Senior Partner was engaged as a key advisor to the 2022 Winter Olympic Games organisation, providing specific design input on both the Curling and Speed Oval projects. The largest challenge was converting the Water Cube, Olympic swimming pool venue, into a professional curling venue.
Lee Valley Ice Centre
The company began a major refurbishment project at the Lee Valley Ice Centre, which included a new refrigeration system, two 60 x 30 meter ice rinks including Ahtletica barrier systems, Engo ice resurfacing equipment, Roxa skates and bespoke built air handling systems. Sky Skate Nottingham
Ice Tech UK continued to revolutionise ice rink design when it introduced Sky Skate as part of the Nottingham Winter Wonderland event. This unique ice trail is built almost 5 meters above the market square and has attracted in excess of 350,000 skaters since its introduction.
