The refurbishment of Alexandra Palace Ice Rink transformed the venue’s core ice-making infrastructure, combining modern technology with high-performance engineering to improve efficiency, reliability, and the overall skating experience. Ice Tech UK replaced the existing refrigeration system and installed a new concrete cooling and heating floor. Together, these upgrades enhanced thermal performance, improved temperature stability, and delivered consistent, high-quality ice conditions across the rink.

In addition, the project included the installation of a high-performance Low E ceiling to reduce radiant heat gain within the arena. This upgrade lowered energy consumption, reduced the refrigeration load, and improved the facility’s overall environmental efficiency. To further enhance day-to-day operations, Ice Tech UK installed a modern snow pit system that streamlined ice maintenance and made snow removal during resurfacing faster and more efficient.

The project also introduced a new Athletica barrier system to provide professional-standard player protection, increased durability, and improved sightlines for spectators. As a result, the rink now offers a safer and more versatile environment for public skating and competitive ice sports. Together, these improvements have transformed Alexandra Palace Ice Rink into a modern, energy-efficient, and future-ready facility that will continue to deliver exceptional ice sports experiences for many years to come.
